Also known as Mace, Javintri is a close relative to nutmeg – in fact, they both come from the same Myristica Fragrans tree! This thin, bright red aril comes from the waxy shell of the nutmeg itself, offering similar flavors that are subtler and sweeter. Take a bite, and you’ll find some peppery notes that come through with a carefully considered balance of other ingredients. Javintri’s favorite in Rendang, offering just a hint of added taste and brightness. Javintri can be thrown into any cake, scone or spice cookie batter to make a sweet treat, or it can be easily incorporated into any curry, soup, cream sauce, roast or grille.
